My dishwasher stopped draining about a year ago. We haven't used it since. My wife would like to start. I checked the drain hose and hose that goes to garbage disposal everything ok. Checked motor ok. Checked solenoid ok. When it came to testing the timer I got a reading of 5 on my ohm meter. Is this the culprit? Can I just change the timer motor or do I need to change the whole assembly.

Did you check to see if your are getting voltage to the solenoid?

Also check the wiring in the door.
