Default Dishwasher not draining
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSD6610K01WW
Age: 1 - 4 years

This is a Canadian Model number that I expect has a US equivalent. It was new in Dec. '06 and has suddenly stopped draining. I would like to know how one removes the lower spray arm to inspect/clean the filter and to access the drain pump impeller.

Here is a use full site
dishwasher repair service help Maytag GE Kenmore Whirlpool Inlgis Frigidaire, leaking, washing, draining problems, pump assembly break downs

Look at #8 then #16. Only applies to newer one piece types.

If it does not drain at all but the pump runs
Remove the kick plate
It should have a solenoid on the left hand side of the pump assy
Does the solenoid pull down when it should be draining?
This solenoid operates a flapper valve which diverts the water to wash or drain

With water in the tub
Door slightly ajar
Manually push the solenoid plunger down and hold it
Close the door
Does it now drain?
Once it starts to drain you can release the plunger, water pressure should keep the valve in the drain position
Once drain is complete the valve should reset to wash on it's own
Do not run the pump for any length of time with low water levels.
