Question Dishwasher not cleaning well
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: kudc25ch
Age: 5 - 10 years

Looking for help to fix an issue with my dishwasher not cleaning well. Up to 2 months ago, no real problems, but then suddenly the dishes, especially top rack don't appear to get cleaned well.

The glasses are coated with a thin white layer of powder, and they still have smudges and liquid lines (like from milk). I've tried using less detergent, and have a full reservior of "no streak" fluid. Also, on the top of the cups & some glasses there are small fragments of particles which I believe are remaining food.

I've taken care to ensure the top rack is engaged into the mating tube where the water comes up from below, but nothing seems to help. I also did a wash with vinegar as recommended in the manual for the powder issue. I'm using the same dishwasher soap as always, but I did add a water softener, but that was 6 months ago -- please advise if you have any good ideas -- Thank You

Have any glass been broken in the dishwasher in the last two months?

Check the drain screen in the bottom of the dishwasher. There may be debris plugging the drain.

you have curdled milk hanging out in the pump. Go to an applaince parts house and get some dishwasher magic. open set in silverware tray run complete cycle with no load.

All,

Thank you for your ideas.

I'm not aware of a glass being broken in the last 2 months.

The drain screen appears to be clean from what I can see -- no residual water either.

I'll try some dishwasher magic to see what that does initially.
