Default Dishwasher leaves bits on top of dishes
Brand: KitchenAid
Age: 5 - 10 years

Help - my disherwasher leaves fine bits on top of everything in the top rack (mostly the top). They get dried on during the drying cycle so have to be washed by hand after to get them off. What is causing this problem? We have cleaned out the sprayer arm.........all the usual things and it is still happening. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you broken any glass in your dishwasher in the last couple of months?

It could be that the water is not being drained all the way out during the wash and rinse cycles leaving particles in the dishwasher.

Is the water draining all the way out? You should not be able to see any water in the bottom of your dishwasher.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model number KUDS24SEWH2.

I found that this used to happen when we used dishwasher tablets but when I switched to the little packets that dissolved and inlude a poweder tablet and liquid it didn't happen anymore. I did go back to tablets when I ran out and it happenned again.

If it is dirt (food particles) then you have a problem with your dishwasher.

Not sure what else it could be apart from perhaps the food particles are not filtering properly and spreading back onto your pots?

My GE D-Washer has same problem (of leaving krutt on top shelf) because the top sprayarm mounted to the "ceiling" and spraying downwards, does not work.
