How much was the labor cost? I saw it was covered, but after some simple math, it was more cost effective to replace it myself.
I've opted to order the touch pad myself to avoid paying the labor costs. For $63, that is just about (after shipping) what the DIAGNOSTIC cost would have been, which is MY responsibility to pay.
But, of course they wouldn't send me the part under warrantee, it HAD to be done by an authorized person. Sounds like a very greasy and symbiotic relationship to me.
I just wish these companies would stop yanking our chain about warrantees and rape us for diagnostic and labor costs later. To me, a warrantee means that the company is confident that it won't break. If it does, it should be up to the company to pay ALL costs.
Luckily for us, the consumer, these forums exist and will eventually force these companies to make quality parts, or stand by their stuff 100 %. Quote:
