Default Dishwasher heater element
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FDB635RBS0
Age: 5 - 10 years

My dishwasher timer stops and will not advance when on heated water wash or rinse. I'm pretty sure it's the heater element. Before I buy the $48 element, I wanted some confirming opinions.
The resistance of the element (one terminal disconnected) is about 15 ohms. Is that an indication it's bad?
Thanks,
Rhett in Alabama

What scale is your meter set on?

If it is set on rx1 then the element should be fine.

What is the temperature of your water going in to the dishwasher?

It will take the dishwasher a long time to heat the water.

The resistance is an actual 15 ohms.
Hot water is delivered at 120 deg. It's not the water temp since the timer stays on "heating delay" indefinitely. If water heating is not selected, it goes thru OK.

More info.
Should have done this before: I put the dishwasher in heated dry and the heater element gets from hot to warm. However, in addition to sticking during heated wash or rinse, the dishes don't dry. Could it be that the heater goes open during it's early operation but has continuity when I check it cold? Are elements prone to fail in this manner?
Thanks

No elements are either good or bad no in between.

If you jet dry the dishes should dry without the use of the heating element.

It may be that the jet dry is not dispensing.
