My Maytag dishwasher fills whenever I close and latch the door. The water will drain when I press the drain button, but as soon as the drain cycle is complete it fills again. The same is true when the wash cycle is complete. Any suggestions will be helpful.

Is the dishwasher filling with clean water or water from the drain?

Are the light on the control panel staying on?

When the door is closed and latched you hear the pump kick on and fills the tub. It shuts off when the float switch is activated. So to answer your question it is clean water and no lights come on. When you run a wash cycle everything seems to work. The dishes are clean, the clean light is on, but there is water in th tube. When you press the drain buttom the water drains out, but when the cycle is done the pump kicks on and fills the tub.

You may have this problem with a couple wires shorting to each other
