Default Dishwasher Fills But Won't Wash!
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: DU920PWKB0

Here's the story. For around a week, my dishwasher has been acting funny. It fills up and drains OK but - here's the weird part - it doesn't actually wash the dishes! Normally it's pretty noisy during the wash cycle but now it's gone quiet.

You may be able to get away with just replacing the impeller, which looks like this:

You can purchase the impeller by following this link:
Partselect.com - Whirlpool Dishwasher Parts And All Brands of Appliance Parts

If that doesn't work, you're likely going to have to replace the entire pump and motor assembly, which you can find here:

Hi!

I'm afraid it's the motor that's gone cold. Filling-up and draining water is a separate function from the motor. If it's the impeller, at least the motor will still run. Turn-on the washer and listen carefully if the motor is running. You can also try to remove the back-cover and see for yourself if something moves but be aware that this can be dangerous.

Logically, the impeller is cheaper than the motor so if I'm facing the same problem and isn't really sure, I'll try it first.
