Default Dishwasher drain pump will not stop
Brand: Other
Model Number: Bosch SHU43C024C/14
Age: 5 - 10 years

When I start any wash cycle, the drain pump runs for a short period and then the dishwasher begins filling, which is what it is supposed to do. Well, when I start any cycle, the drain pump starts and keeps running. The main wash motor never starts up. I can't here the water inlet valvle open. The time display does countdown even though the drain pump is still running. I will check the fill valve to make sure it is clean. Any help you can give me would be most helpful.

Thread update: Just delved into the problem. Took the water valve off and found out the filter screen was dirty. Pulled out the filter and cleaned it, put it back together and tried and, voila, it started working. Saved myself the cost of a service guy to tell me the filter was dirty!

I have something similar happening, but I'm not quite sure that I will have the same solution. I have a GE GSD3420Z00BB. The dishwasher drains, fills, the motor turns on, and then it drains again, leaving no water to wash.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
