Default Dishwasher doesn't run
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 665.15835793
Age: 5 - 10 years

Have a Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher. It doesn't matter which Sensing cycle or Option is chosen the dishwasher fills with water and the timer counts down but the dishwasher does not run. When the Start button is pressed the Washing light comes on. After two minutes the Sensing light comes on. Then every minute a click or buzz is heard for about five seconds coming from under the dishwasher but the dishwasher never starts running. When this problem first starting happening a burning smell was noticed. I took the door cover and control board cover off and looked and smelled for a burnt component or odor and didn't find any. I looked and smelled in the motor area and did not see or smell anything. Can the problem be a control board or motor?

You will have to check and see how much voltage is going to the motor.

If you are getting 115 volt to the motor then there is a problem with the motor.

Check to make sure that there is nothing jamming the motor.

If you are not getting 115 volts to the motor it is likely the control board.

Here is a link to the parts for your dishwasher model 665.15835793.
