Our dishwasher is giving us fits. Six months, or so, ago it stopped running through the cycle when all the buttons were set to HOT. We have appliance insurance, so we called the dishwasher in.
The first repairman ordered and eventually fitted a new sump and pump. No change.
The second repairman replaced the thermostat. No change.
The third repairman said he had come to replace the button set. he didn't, so not change.
The forth repairman came to see what the first three had done and what they were up against.
The fifth repairman came and replaced the button selecter switch set, leaving by saying that it didn't need replacing, and that it was probably the heater element that was faulty. However, the first repairman had checked the element for temperature and found it working well. The water entering the washer is hot enough, but the only way we can get it through a complete cycle is by de-selecting HOT wash and HOT rinse. The final part of the cycle, hot drying, seems OK.
The fifth repairman said changing the element would fix the problem and he didn't know what the first four were playing at!
I bought a new element and fitted it, but the problem as initially reported remains the same. The washer will not complete the cycles when set to HOT, which is where we need it. We can advance it manually, but
I have thought about replacing the door or one of the pot racks just in case it had developed an incompatibly on ground of discrete social status, etc, or, perhaps, we had become subject to a malignant spirit, or had fallen foul of the chaos theory.
All and any suggestions will be warmly welcomed.
Ronnie - at my wit's end!
