Default Dishwasher Blows Fuses
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: DU943PWKB0
Age: 1 - 4 years

I just replaced the fuse to my dishwasher, it worked for an hour, then it wont turn on again. Is it that the fuse is too weak, or would there be something internal that keeps blowing the fuse? Please help.
Dishwasher is Whirlpool model DU943PWKB0

Does it stop in the same cycle each time the fuse opens?

It is likely a problem with the dishwasher not the fuse.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model DU943PWKB0.

It usually stops during the rinse cycle.

Does it drain and then stop?

As much detail as possible would be helpful.

If the dishwasher is not draining there could be something stopping the motor from reversing and draining.

Default Sorry

The dishwasher is not draining and water was left in the pan. It ususally happens during the final rinse. Before the fuses would last about 6 to 9 months, this last one lasted 1 hour.

Did the dishwasher sound different while running before the fuse went?

No. I did run two rinse cycles to kinda clean out the machine. Nothing intense or rigorous, fuse blew during first wash, dishes in and everything.

Did you replace the fuse or the fuse kit? If Im not mistaken there is a fuse kit on that modle. The kit takes care of the loose connection issues.

Should look like this Whirlpool Dishwasher,Thermal Fuse w/ Harness #675813 - eBay (item 350029775952 end time Mar-05-08 21:11:39 PST)

Default Heat may be the killer

I had the same problem. The THERMAL fuse died a few cycles after I replaced the electronic control unit. I realized that a thermal fuse in that area will pop when the local temp is too high...
What can make that happen?
I found that the gasket on the drying vent was worn and during the hot rincing or drying phase steam was injected in the contol panel...
I changed the gasket and the dishwaher is now running fine.
