I just got my countertop portable danby washermachine by ups today and all the parts fit except the drain hose , it wont screw on to the drain hose connection on the washer. Is this just me or is there a trick to it or any tips to get it on the drain hose connection? MY fingers and hands are red from trying to attach the drain hose and I'm frustrated beyond belief. please help .

There should not be any trick to it.

Check the thread on the hose and the spout that the drain hose connects to.

I have the same unit and had the same problem. Apparently this is a known defect with this model - that is, that there is supposed to be an additional piece with the hose connection that helps you thread the connection onto the back of the dishwasher.

I spent a long time trying to hook mine up also, and finally got it on using a wrench only to tighten it too much and snap the connection in half. My advice (and what I will be doing) is call Danby and get the replacement part - they should ship it free of charge if the unit is still under the 1 year warranty.
