Default Cycle stops after first wash
Brand: Sears
Model Number: 5871510090
Age: More than 10 years

Dishwasher turns on, drains any remaining water, fills, and then washes first cycle. At the point inwhich it should drain after the first wash the timer "clicks" to start the drain cycle but then clicks again and it doesn't perform any other functions until shut off and it will only go through the first cycle. The timer does continue to run but no other functions perform except fill and the dry cycle. Could it be the motor relay switch? The drain hose is not clogged because it drains at the start of the first cycle.

If the dishwasher is draining at the first of the cycle and washing there is nothing wrong with the motor relay.

You may have a bad selector switch or the timer contact may be burnt.

Here is a link to a list of parts for your dishwasher model 5871510090.
