i'm doing just the opposite - i took the shell off an old portable and am putting on a builtin - and it looks fairly straight forward to me - i would assume that the companies make the builtin dishwashers exactly the same as the portables up to a point - it wouldn't make any sense to do it any other way . . . . . unless there is something i'm not considering. . . all i need right now is the portable hose hookup to go to the sink. are the sizes of the water hoses somewhat common? one is a high pressure metal type hose - and the drain hose is plastic - or rubber - they were both rubber on the old portable -

any help- suggestions?

thanks!

kim

There are conversion kit to convert from portable to built in.

Usually there is a different water valve that a copper water line will hook to.

The copper line is run from the hot water pipe.

The drain hose is a rubber hose and is connected to the sink drain with a Y pipe that is installed in the drain pipe.

Not all portable can be converted to built in.
