This is my first post. I have a question about the ice dispenser and a washer that was dispensed.

We have a Frigidaire Ref/Frzr side by side with water and ice dispensed thrugh the freezer door. The unit is under 2 years old; Model FRS6LF7FB3.

I found the washer in the parts drawing and am debating if this is simply removing panels to get to the ice auger where the metal washer appears to be located. The ice maker works OK and it dispenses ice although it seems to be a mix of crushed and cube. I'm concerned that it may grind itself up by continuing to use it as is.

This washer appears to be retained in the ice auger box with a snap ring. The snap ring I don't have and it could have been dispensed long ago and tossed.

Has anyone heard of this type of problem?
