Default Window unit won't cool
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FAS184N2A
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have a window A/C unit that just stopped cooling. I have tried turning off and then on, but not working. Also tried adjusting temp and speed as well as cleaning filter. Fan is working fine. Any suggestions?

You will need a meter to check. Pull control panel and check for power to compressor when selector is in cool mode. If no power you have a bad selector switch. If power, check current flow. If none, you probably have a blown compressor, or overload on the side of the compressor. Check compressor windings with ohmeter. If any open, you have a blown compressor.

Remove front panel screws and knobs. You should find a schematic there. Refer to that for testing info.

I have a similar problem my air conditioner work fine in fan mode but when I use cool mode it still blows warm and it pulsates frequently like it wants to stop. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

From the syptoms, you have a bad start relay or bad compressor. Need to take cover off side of compressor and pry off the black box, if bad it has no continuity.
