Default Unstuck, stuck control contacts?
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: M6X08F2A-B
Age: 1 - 4 years

My Maytag window A/C's compressor remains on. The unit will not stop blowing cold air. I tried to turn the power off using the remote switch as well as the unit switch but could not turn the unit off. I unplugged from the wall and let it set for two days. When I tried plugging back in the compressor started humming right away while in the past I had to turn the unit on first. As many know, but I didn't I contacted Maytag for warrenty work and found out that they sold to Fedders which is I think still in bankruptcy. NO WARRENTY work being done. I am on the list for future servic though. I found your web site and found one thread sounding similar, (Welded Control Contacts). I took my unit and blew it out with shop air and for the heck of it plugged it in. It seemed to operate normally. Could I have unstuck the contacts? What if they call to repair it now? Can you see if contacts were welded together and would they still replace or fix them. Where can I find parts or any information on my unit.. Please can someone help.
