Default Transformer Blowout
Age: 1 - 4 years

This is only our second year with our AC unit. Last year, no trouble at all. This year, we've blown out the transformer TWICE. It is still under warranty and our heating guy has repaired it without a problem. He says both times were just "flukes". Is this possible, or is there some reason behind this, do you think?

Have you had it plugged in to the same outlet both times? I would be concerned with two flukes. Do you have enough time left on your warranty to try to determine the problem?

Yes, same outlet. The repair person claims that it was some minor part that shorted, then caused the transformer to blow. We have another three years on the warranty, I believe.
