Default Trane 80XL TUD100R936K 0, the blower fan runs continuously
Brand: Other
Model Number: trane xl 80
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi

I have a trane 80XL TUD100R936K 0, the blower fan runs continuously and the LED light on the control board is flashing in a groups of 5. That indicates the sensor is sensing a flame but none is present. I get the A/c to work but not the heat. The control board is a White-Rodgers 50M61-495 Trane part #CNT 03077. The thermostat is Honeywell Chromotherm lV plus.
Could the problem be the control board or the Thermostat or both? Where do you suggest I start testing to determine the problem and buy the correct replacement parts to fix the problem?
Also noticed that the White-Rodgers 50M61-495 control board has been replaced by a 50M61-843 only found 1 place that sells the original part any difference?

Thanks Lou

Trane factory Authorized Service should check this out. Too many maybe's example: Maybe the thermostat, maybe the board, maybe the sensor. Again too many expensive maybes for DIYer.
