Default Outside C/A Unit
Brand: Other
Age: 1 - 4 years

Although our C/A unit isnt that old we seem to have a problem from time to time with a musty odor that fills the house while we have the C/A running. Its an outside unit and I was wondering if it could be caused by decaying leaves and dirt that have fallen inside the open (fan) part. Should it be cleaned out or is my problem from something else? Any help would be appreciated as its 91 and humid in Southern Ontario, Canada today!

The unit should be cleaned out every year.

This could be causing your smell.
