Unhappy LG Model lwhd1200R wiring diagram needed
Brand: Other
Model Number: lwhd1200R
Age: Less than 1 year

I am seeking a wiring diagram for an LG lwhd1200R window air conditioner. I checked the owner's manual and called LG directly, but niether one was helpful. LG just gave me a number to take the AC to a repair shop in the region. I took apart another LG AC I have, but it is wired differently.

The problem is easily fixable if I have the information. Don't laugh, but my wife dropped the AC out the second floor window this morning, because she decided to "clean around it". Everything and everyone is ok. The bushes down below broke the AC's fall and other than damage to a side panel curtain on the AC, it otherwise seems ok. The electrical connectors disconnected, so I don't have to apply new connectors or anything. I just need to know which places to plug them back into.

The electrical supply wire has a black and white wire. The black wire has a connector turned (naturally) 90 degrees, while the connector on the white wire is straight. The green wire is ground - I know where that goes.

There is a black connector block on the left (when facing the front of the AC) with two empty spades. I think there black wire goes to this, but I am not sure which spade. Internally, there is a blue wire with a 90 degree connector that is disconnected. I think it also goes to this black connection box.

Toward the back of the electrical box, facing forward, there are two empty connectors. One has a yellow wire connected internally, the other has an orange wire. I assume that the white electrical supply connects to one of these, but I don't know which one.

I figure I have a 25% chance of getting it right without information, and a 75% chance of frying the unit and causing a major blackout on the US east coast.

Any knowledgeable help would be appreciated.

Default And a picture or two

Here is a picture (click on image to enlarge) of the possible connections. Notice the black connector block on the left and the disconnected blue wire inside the box. The circular shiny object in the rear is another, partially hidden connection block, with an orange wire going to one part and a yellow wire to the other. The second picture shows the disconnected white and black power supply wires.

Ok, stop snickering. Hopefully someone will be able to advise me before the hot weather hits. Otherwise, its trial by error.

Never mind answering. Having no replies, I managed to make it work by trial and error. The AC worked when the blue and black wires were connected opposite to what I expected and the white wire connected to somewhere I did not suspect.

In any case, I blew nothing up in the process and the AC pumps out cold air and cycles appropriately. It seems louder than it was before when the compressor is on, but it works and the wife is happy about it.

Thanks LG - "Life is good, unless you ask for technical service".

Glad you got you air conditioner fixed. For future refernce this info could be helpful.

I had a problem with an LG appliance and got the runaround on diagrams and parts availability at first - "Service manuals and internal components are only available for sale to authorized service centers or those companies licensed for electronics/appliance repair." I bitched to the point that my complaints went up the corporate ladder. I subsequently got phone calls from two LG VP's, one in parts supply and one in customer service. Though the customer service people and local service center were reluctant to give me the same information, for future reference both andrewselectronics.com and partstore.com sell diagrams and parts for LG products.

I had trouble with their customer service too. They were not helpful at all and did not know where I could get replacement parts.

I guess that was the purpose of my post. I finally did learn that repair parts are readily available for LG appliances through andrewselectronics.com and partstore.com. It took me a while to get that information, but once I did my repair was very easy.
