My Jenn-Air oven makes a grinding noise when operating. It operates fine but the grinding noise continues after I turn off the oven and it cools down. Yes, it continues to grind after turning it off. I want to repair it myself but have no knowledge of ovens. I'm pretty sure I could replace a part if I knew which one to replace. Any thoughts?

Have a Jenn-Air myself; when you say, "when operating," what mode is it in? It sounds like you might be in "Convection Oven" and the fan may be contacting the grease filter; if this is the case, the grinding should stop as soon as the fan does: how long does the noise continue after shut-off, any more than a few seconds?

What I mean is that when the oven is turned on and the temperature set, it makes a certain noise while it heats up. It makes this noise all through the cooking time. However, when I turn all knobs to off after cooking, the noise continues until it cools down sufficiently. Sometimes this is a few minutes, sometimes almost 30.

Wow-- I can't for the life of me figure what might be making a grinding noise when all controls are in "off" position. A couple of suggestions/questions: 1. Where does the noise come from- around the control panel or inside oven? 2. Could you find out if noise continues even if the 220V breaker to stove were to be turned off (or stove unplugged, if you can reach it) at the end of a heating cycle?

Did you get an answer to your problem? My Jenn-air Oven does the same thing. I need it repaired...the noise is horrible.

Cannot help with your problem, though it does sound like a fan grinding and perhaps the fan runs after shut off for a cool down period

But would suggest you open a new thread/post in the Range Repair section
More people look for and give help for stoves in that section
