Default I have added a movie to hear the noise my outside unit is making
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FS3BC-060k
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have added a link to show and hear the noise my outside AC unit is making. Its not the fan, it seems to be the compressor; the unit cools great, it is just loud as the devil, it started doing this about a year ago. What is the problem?

Thanks

It is definitely a vibration.

It could be the compressor or it could be a couple of pipes vibrating.

I have to agree with pknight. Your contacts are clearly chattering. Go to an AC supply house. You should be able to find a contactor for around $30

Thanks for your replys, I would have liked to replace those contacts, but then I had to go out of town before I read your advice. Then while I am out of town the unit fails, so my wife calls the repairman (on my advice) and he says we need new compressor. So, rather that have my family cook for three days until I return, I say do whatever is needed. Bad timing on my part.
Again, I thank you for your help.
