Drilled into unit/ Plastic Fan EXPLODED DUH Brand: Other Model Number: LG MOD LWHD1200R Age: 1 - 4 years Well, I did it. Decided that the LG AC was not drining properly, and it wsn't; water was too deep inside bottom of unit...but was operating/cooling fine. SO...got my drill and looked thru vent slots to see that I could drill where I would not hit anything. Tried to drill where as I did not run the 4" bit all the way up into the unit; even thought it appeared if I did, I would only hit air.
What I did NOT see....was the plastic fan spinning so fast it was invisable! Yep, when the bit shot 4" up into the bottom of the unit it hit the spinning at the speed of light plastic fan..and the fan flew into pcs. Pulled the inside of the unit out thru the front, and removed the pcs of the fan. I am sure the plastic fan is inexspensive, but where would I find one? It also appears to "lock" onto the motor shaft from the side that faces the back of the unit, and of course, there is the back coil about 5" from where it attaches to the shaft in some manner, how it attaches, I dont know, I cant see it because of the back coil. So, d can anyone tell me where to find a fan? AND, how to remove the fan hub from th shaft? Where to find an explode drwaing of the inside of the unit? The unit is alittle over a yr old, and I hate to spend $300 on a new one when all I need is aplastic fan taht probably costs $25 bucks or so at tehe most...any and all helf would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance!! |
