Default Comfort Maker air conditioners
Brand: Other
Age: Less than 1 year

Hi all..

I have a new condo....air conditioner seems to not be cooling fast as Imn used to. We have large ceilings, bigger rooms. That might be a problem.

We have had the ac on an hour and temp has gone down 1 degree.

Is anyone aware of any problems with ComfortMaker central conditioners or can anyone suggest a way to make ir run cooler.

Thanks!

Ox

Make sure the filter is new. Check outdoor unit to see if there is any dirt or debris. After that call a "Technician".

Ox. Check the copper lines. Is the larger line sweating or cold? Is the Smaller line warm or hot? If not you may have a freon leak. Also you may want to see if the Condenser (outside unit) is running. Did you bring this system from another location or did it come with the condo?

Hi Taken,

Thanks for the reply!!

I will check the copper stuff 2morrow morning. Are these copper things from the condenser to the house?

The AC was here when we bought the joint.

Thanks again!!

Ox, The copper lines run from the evaporator (inside unit) to the condenser. You can check this either inside or outside.

Also if there is a leak you will see an oily reside at the location of the leak.

Another thing to consider is the evap coil may be dirty and not getting sufficient air flow. Can you visibly see the fins of the coil? If so are they clogged? Did the previous owner have pets suck as dogs or cats? Animal hair is often a culprit when it come to a dirty evap coil. I know these are a lot of questions but there are so many different possibilities when it comes to situations such as these.
