Default A/C Window unit will not stop cooling!
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: AGH10AJ or AGH10AJG1
Age: 1 - 4 years

After a power surge in the house I noticed the room this unit is in was around 65 F. When I looked at the unit it still stated 72 F for the setting. I cranked it up to 75 and it still over cooled the room. Seems like it will not sense the temp in the room or will just not shut the pump off. I found the parts to be very hard to find. Only a few parts even available for this darn thing.

Just wondering if the Thermistor is what is bad or could it maybe be the PCB (control board)?

The contacts in the control are likely welded together.

This is why the unit will not shut off.

Here is a link to your air conditioner model AGH10AJG1.

It does not show the part numbers for the part that you require.

Here is a number for General Electric
US 1-800-626-2005 Canada 1-877-959-8688.

Well, I included the link to where I can get the parts, but it seems it was removed (no idea why)! Anyway, I will try again!

If it is the contacts in the then it will be easy to get and easy to install. I would rather it be the thermistor though since it is much cheaper, but oh well!

Ok, this is getting on my nerves. Every time I have posted and replied to a post I do not see my post. Then I read my post that I posted yesterday and it is missing 2 sentences. If your site automatically deletes posts with hyper links then why even have that as an option in the tools? I would give you the site that I found the parts on, but wait! Your site will not allow that.

Thanks for the reply anyway!
